Install applications

  1. Open the App store and search for Microsoft Company Portal, Authenticator, Outlook, and Teams
  2. Install Microsoft Company Portal, Authenticator, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Teams. Ensure these applications are by Microsoft Corporation.

Set up Applications and Multifactor Authentication

Set up Authenticator

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator. Accept the privacy notification, and continue on sending the sharing your app usage data.
  2. On the next screen, select “Add work or school account”
  3. Input your email address and select Next. Input the Password. Select Sign In.
  4. You will be prompted to set up in a web browser. Click Next to open Safari.
  5. In Safari, input your email address, tap next, and enter your password. Tap Sign in.
  6. Action required, click Next, Next
  7. On Keep your account Secure, tap “Pair your account to the app by clicking this link” then “Open” to open in Authenticator
  8. Tap Allow to allow notifications
  9. Open Safari again. Click Next
  10. Two things will happen, a number will appear and an alert will appear. Make a mental note of the number, and tap the alert (says Approve sign-in?)
  11. Enter the number and tap Yes
  12. Switch back to Safari and tap Next under notification approved. Then Done. Microsoft Authenticator is configured now.

Set up Outlook

  1. Open Outlook. Select “Add Account”
  2. Enter your work email address in the “Enter your Email” box. Select “Continue”
  3. Click Open Authenticator
  4. It will open Authenticator, then go back to Outlook. Tap “Maybe Later” when it asks if you want to add another account
  5. You may be prompted to close the app and/or set a PIN. Follow the prompts.

Set up Teams

  1. Back at the home screen, open up Teams. Select your email account to sign in
  2. The next splash screens are all about preferences. Choose the preferences that are appropriate to your needs.

Your phone is now set up with multi-factor.mdauthentication using microsoft-authenticator. You also have set up microsoft-teamsand outlook.
